The UIC Cheerleaders and Dancing Flames are members of the University of IL at Chicago Athletic Department. The spirit teams’ primary focus is to create a positive, high energy, environment for members of the UIC community. The spirit teams can be seen at various university events and at all the Men’s and Women’s basketball games.

The UIC Cheerleaders and Dancing Flames are both competitive teams that compete at the national level.  The cheerleaders partcipate yearly in the NCA College National Championships in Daytona Florida every April. The UIC Cheerleaders compete in the Small Coed Div. 1 category.  The cheer team has finished top 5, three of the last five seasons.  The Dancing Flames alternate their competition seasons between UDA and NDA.  In 2007, the dancers earned a National Championship in the "Hip Hop" division at UDA.
